playing catch up

yikes, i havent posted in a while! so lets see. well sunday i went up with bethany to apu. i got tovisit with her and rachel, and even caught a glimpse of julie. sunday we got there, i met a ton of people, including davey, who is one of the only people i can remember, since we were with him mostly. we went to the caf. for dinner, which was pretty good- mac and cheese- yum! afterwards, we went on a dessert run. first off we went to baskinrobbins. rachel and i went around three crosswalks, bc the direct route was broken, and she didnt want to cut across the street as beth and davey did. that was our first stop, where i learned that when someone shoves your face, it is pretty annoying :) then we went to paradise juice? i think thats what it is called. it was yummy frozen yogurt. so good- the best ive had. they had amazing vanilla, and mango. i loved both. afterwards, bethany and i went out on the patio for worship, which was cool. we watched a movie (Rachel, leah, and i) i dont know what it was called, while beth and davey were out talking under the stars (i love doing that). next day, i woke up like 15 times between 6 and 7. they had the alarms go off like every 5 minutes. but i slept in until 8. then rachel and i took showers, ate breakfast, and then she had to go to class. so that was goodbye :( beth came back not long after, and we went to an amzing coffee shop where we got a naked juice blended up- so good! then i met up with amy and danielle and went on a tour of the campus. pretty borring, funny that we ran into bethany on the 'tram' though:D after that, we went back to the same coffee shop, where kt got 'ice cream'. i chased after kt, and fed her, while trying not to let the sticky mess end up all over me:) then i went home with them, and on the way, danielle's mom yelled Jesus loves you out the window. pretty funny, but you had to be there. and that was my day.

wednesday, we also had off! i basically slept in and made up all my homework.

next week is spirit week. i dont feel like dressing up at the moment, but ill get over it. i need to find a character. and suggestions? and find out what people wore in the 80s! i also need to try to find maroon and gold, bc i have absolutely none. and i dont want to wear uniforms, if i dont have to :P

so its me this time. ashley, and cynthia, and joseph randomly came over. at like 8:30. stole my ice cream and rootbeer, watched what a girl wants-on tv- its cynthias favorite movie, and then left. i love when the unexpected happens!

WE JUST SAW CHARLIE AND THE BANANA KING!!!! And joseph is in fact NOT superman because he can't fly. this is kind of random because this isn't august...it's her evil twin...PUT A BANANA IN YOUR EAR (A BANANA IN MY EAR) PUT RIPE BANANA INTO YOUR FAVORITE EAR. hERe's my song to the world

harvest

harvest festival was so much fun this year. it started out by running all over the campus looking fo keys. finally a teacher let us in the room, and danielle and i set up. then, jessica, grace, danielle, and i went to its a grind to kill an hour, since our shift didnt start till 4:30. coffee was fun, talked about randomness. then we came back and face painted, thanks to danielle for doing it with me, and did that until about 7? i love painting their faces. they sit there so still, and try not to laugh or talk, and then when i show them their face, thay have a huge smile! so worth it. afterwards, we went to the football game. danielle and i, that is. we met up with chantal and ian, and basically sat at one of the ends and talked- and froze! so that was my day- pretty good, overall!

WC gym trip

we went to the rock gym for wilderness challenege, today. so much better than being stuck in school. we got out durring break, and came back in seventh. i must say, this sport is not for the shy. this was basicaly my first time, so i had no idea how to use anything. a 't.a.' showed me how to put on a harness, so i did what she told me to. later, westrup walks over, along with fieldhouse, and now i have two people staring at my crotch. then david comes over. it was so funny- i wanted to laugh really bad, but i reigned myself in. finally we figured out the harness, and we started to climb! i didn't get far at first, it didnt help that we didnt start with too easy of a wall, but eventually i got the hang of it and made it to the top a couple of times. i only made it to the top when joseph was standing below me forcing me to do it, though. that was weird, but cool and fun, too.
lunch felt like it came up in no time, and after that, things were more relaxed. everyone pretty much knew what they were doing, and friends were climbing together. over all, it was alot more fun than i expected it to be :)

i love old people

today was totally amazing. i went to a convalescent home with amy and danielle. now i love old people, but it is sometimes hard to just walk into a room and start a conversation, but that is what i had to do. i'll get back to that later, though. for - i don't know- maybe thirty to fourty minutes, i walked in a circle around the nursing home. she couldn't talk, but you could tell she knew what she wanted, because she definitely knew which direction she wanted to go. i also got to decorate for halloween for awhile. most of the time i spent talking to people, though. some conversations were hard, with lots of pauses. others, you couldn't understand one word, you just smiled and hoped you put the right remark in the right spot! there was one lady, alice, who was amazing. i talked to her for an hour and a half, i think. i heard some of the same stories a few times :) but she was really nice. here is what i got from her, though. she has brain cancer, or a tumor, or something like that, and is in the nursing home. she is very talkative, as most of them are, and would love to spend all day talkin to a nurse. she tod me this, though. she said that she never tries to talk to a nurse more than she can help, because she knows that their are other patients who need her more! how amazing is that? she was full of life and hope and happiness, in a place where i would probably be pretty depressed. oh, and i think she had 12 siblings, though i'm not sure if it was her or a different lady. but yikes! that is so many- and especially if you think that they were probably born before or durring the great depression. anyway, alice made my day, and is one of my new heroes :)

I laughed so hard I cried today- it was the first time in forever, and it felt so good! I just sat there laughing silently and shaking, the tears actually rolling down my cheeks. it was at something stupid, too.

August is so relieved her government test is over, and she did well. She is so relieved she is talking in third person, something August never ever does :]

yikes, so i have a government test, an english test, and an english paper. i also have a dad who wants to change my car battery- very nice, but i have no time. i also have add, but just for the day. whenever i need to concentrate most, i never can!
